Credits
In short
- One credit exports one video in Full HD; 4K, your own logo and more than ten custom icons add one each.
- Packs are a single payment — no subscription, and credits don't expire.
- Building and previewing five maps is free, and a failed render always gives the credits back.
On this page
A credit is one exported video. You buy them in packs, they sit on your account until you use them, and nothing recurring is ever set up. There's no watermark forced onto free videos and no feature switched off while you're deciding — the editor itself costs nothing to use.
A new account starts with no credits, which is fine, because you only need one at the very end.
What a render costs
Every export starts at one credit for the video itself, rendered at 60 frames per second. Three settings add a credit each:
- Rendering in 4K Ultra HD instead of Full HD
- Removing the AvoMap logo, or putting your own there instead
- Using more than ten different custom icons on your symbols
That last one is about icons, not symbols: you can drop as many symbols as you like, and what's counted is how many different custom icons they use. The built-in icons are free, and an icon you made yourself counts once however many symbols carry it, so most videos never reach ten.
The export summary adds these up and shows the total and your balance before you confirm, so there's never a surprise. The most expensive video you can build costs four credits.
What else uses credits
Building a 3D model of your own vehicle from photos costs 2 credits, and importing a GLB file you already own costs 1. You pay once per model, not once per video — after that the model is in your Library and travels as many routes as you like. If a build fails, the credits come back. The 3D Models page covers the whole process.
The packs
Three packs exist: Basic, Plus, and Pro. They differ in how many credits you get, and the dialog shows what each one works out to per video so you can compare. Plus is the one marked most popular; Basic is the cheapest way to try a render.
A limited-time offer runs now and then, and when it does, the banner at the top of the pricing dialog tells you when it ends.
Checkout happens on our payment provider's own secure page. If you have a discount code, there's a field for it before you go through.
Lifetime accounts
If you came in through an AppSumo lifetime deal, redeem your code in the same dialog, under Redeem. Lifetime accounts get a fresh batch of credits every month rather than buying packs, and your map list shows when the next batch lands.
What's free
Quite a lot, deliberately:
- The editor, for as long as you want. Plan routes, fly the camera, style the map.
- Playing the preview, as often as you like. What you see there is what gets rendered.
- Five maps on a new account.
- Every feature. Nothing is held back for paying accounts.
Past those five maps, the editor waits for a credit pack: the preview stops playing, and the list won't create, duplicate or delete maps until one lands. Nothing you've made is deleted or hidden, and all of it works again as soon as the credits arrive.
Storage
Uploads share one Library across all your videos, and buying a pack raises how much you can keep in it. The bar in the Library shows how much you've used.
When credits come back
Credits are only really spent on a video you received. A render that fails on our side, one you cancel, and an export that couldn't start because the map wouldn't save are all refunded automatically, without you having to ask.
If a balance ever looks wrong, write to hello@avomap.com with the date of the render and we'll sort it out.
Tips
- Check the summary line by line. It's the quickest way to see that 4K or a custom logo is what pushed a render past one credit.
- Preview in Full HD, export in 4K. The preview looks the same either way, and you can switch the quality right before exporting.
- Build your vehicle model once. Two credits gets you a model you can use in every video you ever make.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does AvoMap cost?
The editor is free. Credits are bought once in a pack, with no subscription and no recurring billing, and they're spent when you export a video. A plain Full HD render is one credit.
What makes a render cost more than one credit?
Three things, each adding one credit: rendering in 4K, removing or replacing the AvoMap logo, and using more than ten different custom icons on your symbols. The export summary lists every line before you pay.
Do credits expire?
No. Once a pack is on your account the credits stay there until you use them.
Do I get credits back if a render fails?
Yes, automatically. A render that fails on our side or one you cancel yourself costs nothing.
How many maps can I make for free?
Five. After that, new maps come with a credit pack. Everything you've already built stays yours to open and edit.
