Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need video-editing experience?

Not at all. AvoMap is designed for everyone. You add your route, pick how the map looks, and the editor shows you the result as you go. If you can use a map and drag a slider, you can make a great video.

Can I mix different types of travel in one trip?

Yes. Every leg of your journey can be a different type — fly to a city, drive to a town, then hike to a viewpoint. AvoMap draws each part the right way.

How do I add my photos and videos?

Upload them to your Library, then add them as overlays on top of the map. You can trim video clips to just the part you want.

What's the difference between Symbols and Overlays?

Symbols are markers pinned to a place on the map — they move with the map as the camera flies. Overlays sit on top of the video frame, like titles, photos, and graphics that stay on screen. Use symbols for places and overlays for storytelling.

Can I use my own vehicle in the video?

Yes. Photograph it from the front, both sides and the back, and AvoMap builds a 3D model that travels your route. It works best with vehicles that stand upright on their own, like cars, vans and boats. You can also import a 3D model you already own.

What formats can I export?

You can export for all the popular platforms — widescreen for YouTube, portrait for TikTok, Reels, Stories, and Shorts, and square for feed posts. Choose the shape in Settings.

Can I export in 4K?

Yes. You can choose HD for quick, great-looking results, or 4K for maximum sharpness. Higher quality takes a little longer to produce.

Is there a maximum video length?

Yes — to keep videos smooth and high-quality there's a maximum length. If you reach it, shorten some parts of your trip on the timeline to make room for more.

Do I have to wait while my video exports?

No. AvoMap builds your video in the background, so you don't need to keep the tab open. Your finished videos are ready to download when they're done.

Will my work be saved if I close the tab?

Yes. Your project saves automatically as you work, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off.

How do I get the best-looking result?

A few simple habits go a long way: give each part of your trip enough time on screen so it feels cinematic, start from an overlay preset and make it your own, try dusk lighting for a golden-hour look, and keep the screen uncluttered.
